These are intended to educate you about Hindu ways of devotion and offer insights about Eastern philosophy. The tours are designed to be informative and affable.

To understand the basic philosophy and religion of India, the tour of a Hindu temple is perhaps the first step. Such tours will enrich one's understanding of the oldest religion in the world; a religion without a known founder but with abundance of scriptural knowledge from enlightened scholars and saints, guiding one towards a life of eternal righteousness, the 'Sanatan Dharma'.

The concept of having a place of worship for Hindus in Houston was initiated in 1977 with phase 1 of our temple being completed by early 1980s. Since then its growth has taken place in different stages, depending upon the needs for such expansions. What you see today is the consolidated effort of hundreds of devotees, families, donors, well wishers and friends from the community. More such extensions are steadily being considered by way of added services, facilities and additional measures such as collection of Archives, Gift shop, amenities for Senior citizens, etc.

We offer tours in three different styles, lasting from thirty minutes to about two hours, depending on your convenience and availability. Starting with an introduction, the tour will walk you through the different areas of the temple, from the sanctums to the unique architectural details and service facilities. Visitors have an opportunity to witness a 'Pooja', the Hindu devotional observance presided by a priest at the sacred sanctums, about the intricate aspects of temple construction and visit the temple library. There will be ample opportunities to take pictures and ask questions.
